Yoga Teacher Training Course

 

Program Summary

The 200-hour Hatha Teacher Training program is designed to deepen your yoga practice and to develop teaching skills. The program consists of Yoga Techniques, Training, Practice, Teaching Methodologies, Anatomy & Physiology, Philosophy, Ethics, Lifestyle and Practicum.

The classes will be held on the weekends approximately every 3 weeks, for six months starting January 2018.

Learn more about the program at our OPEN HOUSE, Sunday October 29, 1:30-2:45pm. Stay for a complimentary yoga class 3-4:15pm. 

Upon completion of our program you will be eligible to apply to become a Registered Yoga teacher (RYT) 200 hours.

Purpose

  • To develop a strong personal practice which will be the main source of inspiration and understanding to enable one to share the art and science of yoga with students.
  • To learn the basics of; anatomy, physiology, alignment principles, yoga philosophy and ethics.
  • To practice and learn the skills of teaching such as, demonstration, verbal and manual instruction, observation, teaching to the needs of the student and finding your individual voice as a teacher.
  • To develop an understanding of how yoga may benefit students with general health concerns, common injuries or ailments.

Program includes:

  • Seven Teacher Training weekends with program lead Monica Hasek, ERYT 200/RYT500, and other qualified yoga instructors.
  • Premium individual membership to the WC for duration of the program. This includes unlimited monthly classes and use of the facility.
  • One Weekend Workshop with Master teacher(s)
  • Apprenticeship at WCAC (15 hour)

Prerequisites

  1. At least four months of consistent yoga practice consisting of home practice and regular class attendance.
  2. A minimum of two months of weekly class attendance at the Wellness Center at Antioch college prior to the start of the program.
  3. An established home practice.

Program Director: Monica Hasek E-RYT, RYT500

Monica’s light-hearted approach encourages everyone to feel at home on the mat. Her teaching style emphasizes safety, focusing on healthy alignment of the spine and joints. She infuses the ancient teachings of the yoga sutras and life affirming tantric philosophy into her teachings, inspiring all to be their best.

Monica is a registered yoga teacher at the E-RYT 200 & RYT 500 level with the National Yoga Alliance. She has been teaching since 2003, where she owned and operated Yoga Springs Studio and also developed a Teacher Training program in accordance with the NYA and has certified over 40 teachers.
